Book Cover Redesign - 'Because of Winn Dixie'
'Because of Winn-Dixie' was a book that I first read when I was young, and it stuck with me because of its profound themes. The ideas of melancholy, loneliness, and redemption were explored in depth throughout the book, and Kate DiCamillo’s descriptions of said emotions in each character through the honest lens of 10-year-old India Opal resonated with my child self to the extent that I still clearly remember it over a decade later. Melancholy and redemption are complicated concepts to explain to kids, and I was introduced to them through 'Because of Winn-Dixie.' Because of that, the novel has a lot of significance and nostalgia to me.
In this personal project, I created concept redesigns of the covers and dust jacket for a hardcover version of the novel. This project took 6 days and used Adobe Photoshop. All illustrations and designs are by me, with the text (reviews, summary, and author section) taken from a combination of the Penguin Random House website and the physical copy of the book I own.

Balance Now Brand Style Guide + Insight Logo
This page depicts the design highlights during my role as a Graphic Designer at Balance Now. I initiated and designed a subsidiary logo for Balance Now Insight (our article site) and self-started the ongoing solo project of creating a formal brand style guide for the company. There previously wasn't a brand style guide at all, and I had to compile scattered bits of information and references from Balance Now's websites, its founders, and its design files and resources for this project.
(The Brand Style Guide project is currently in progress and therefore a portion of the slides are still drafts. You can view the deck via the link on this page.)

Balance Now Social Media Content
This page links all of the social media posts that I have designed and published so far in my role at Balance Now. Along with being responsible for designing carousel posts from data and articles, and reporting my work in weekly team meetings, I’ve also created a flexible template for said posts in Canva Pro to ensure the consistency of the brand’s visual identity and adherence to brand guidelines. This has increased overall Instagram post engagements by 11.85%, impressions by 25.35%, and reach by 9.34% within 4 months.

Marketing and Communications Internship, Manny Cantor Center
These are a few of the posters and flyers I designed/updated during my internship at the non-profit organization Manny Cantor Center, Educational Alliance.

Parsons Thesis - Always Bring An Umbrella
Climate change and global warming are problems that we've been aware of for hundreds of years. However, even today, much of humanity doesn't consider these issues with the urgency required. I believe that unless they are aware of the problem affecting their daily lives, the common person will not concern themselves with such — in a sense, “abstract” — large scale issues.
That is I wanted to draw focus to an aspect of climate change that every person is witness to: the weather. By compiling and visualizing daily weather data for the years of 2012 and 2022, we’ll see changes that have occurred over just the last decade of time — how the weather has generally grown more erratic, how the difference in temperature day by day differs greater than 10 years ago, etc.
The weather affects everyone on a daily basis. It directs how we dress, what preparations we make before going out, and even our mood. My main intent with this project was to let the audience make their own observations and analysis of the data presented, as people often take things more seriously when they come to a conclusion themselves instead of just being told it.

Y3K Brand Design Project
To design an original restaurant's brand as it might look in the future year of 3000.
In a not-so-distant future where the world as we know it is gradually being overtaken by technological advancements juxtaposed with society collapse, The Hydra's Head is a discrete informant's bar known to deal in connections and truth.

'RE' - Reimagine, Reuse, Repurpose
Experience in Space: Exhibition Design.
This exhibition is about examining the possibility of developing technology while accounting for the environment, both in terms of more sustainable design moving forward and recycling what we can, as seen through the case of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Typeface Design: Space Pop
Designed for my History of Modern Design class in November 2021.
A typeface influenced by the Space Pop design era; I took inspiration from the globular shapes of an astronaut's helmet, Eero Aarnio's Ball Chair, and interior design spaces from that time. I used the existing typeface "Chennai Black" as a base for the alphabet that I designed for this project.

Wikibook - Glossary of Nautical Terms
To interpret one of Wikipedia’s longest pages into content for a book, translating information from one medium to another. Using Adobe InDesign, I translated a glossary of nautical terms into pocket-book form (size 4.25” x 6.87”), with a small insert in the middle of the book to give exposure to the issue of underwater noise pollution.

Cropped Letter - Type Exploration Tiles
Using letterforms and cropping, I created typographic patterns and textures. This exercise was meant as a way of developing a better understanding of type anatomy. The typefaces used were: Helvetica Bold, Adobe Garamond Pro Regular, Bauer Bodoni Roman, and Clarendon Roman. Each has 4 compositions, resulting in a total of 16 tiles in total.
